Itinerary of nineteen days eco-touristic and photo-touristic journey to Australia - national parks and natural beauties, organized and offered by Albatros Travel and Expeditions.


19 Days/18 Nights

 

Day 1

  • Arrival to Sydney International Airport, welcome meeting at the airport
  • Transfer to the hotel
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel in Sydney

 

Day 2

  • Sightseeing tour through Sydney
  • Boat trip through the Sydney harbour and around famous Sydney Opera House
  • Visit of Royal Botanical Garden - beside indigenous Australian flora exhibition you can see flocks of parrots and flying foxes colonies high in the tree canopy
  • Climb up the top of a well-known Harbour Bridge pylon - beautiful view of the Sydney city
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel in Sydney

 

Day 3

  • Breakfast at the biggest fish market of the South Hemisphere, you can enjoy various fish and sea food delicacies
  • Transfer to Blue Mountains National Park - unique landscape complex protected by UNESCO
  • Walking trip along the famous rock formation „Three Sisters" up to the viewpoint called Scenic World
  • Possibility to take the steepest railway train of the world (optional)
  • Return to Sydney late in the afternoon
  • Evening sightseeing tour through the Sydney harbour
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel in Sydney

 

Day 4

  • Transfer to the airport
  • Flight to the central part of Australia
  • Depending on the time - sightseeing around the Uluru rock formation (Ayers Rock)
  • Visit of a culture centre
  • Sunset behind Uluru observation - unforgettable impression at the worldwide famous rock monolith. Uluru is listed in World Natural Heritage List of UNESCO
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Ayers Rock

 

Day 5

  • Early in the morning - observation of sunrise above the endless Australian bush
  • Transfer to Kata Tjuta
  • Visit of very nice gorge called Windy Valley
  • Transfer continuing up to monumental gorge of Kings Canyon
  • A unique night below millions of stars at the Kings Creek farm in specially adapted dessert tents.

 

Day 6

  • Half day trek through the Kings Canyon - remarkable geological formation in the heart of Australian continent, wonderful rock walls any typical xerophytic flora
  • Transfer to Alice Springs in the afternoon
  • Sightseeing tour in Alice Springs
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Alice Springs

 

 

Day 7

  • Visit of Flying Doctors station
  • Flight to Darwin, capital of Northern Territory
  • Transfer to Outback
  • Iteresting stay at typical Auatralian farm  
  • Identification of the farm daily routines
  • Horseback riding to Australian wilderness (optional)
  • Accommodation and night at the farm

 

 

 

Day 8

  • Whole day trip to Kakadu National Park
  • Possibility of excellent nature observation - many bird species, kangaroos and other marsupials. Many crocodiles in swamps.
  • Famous rock paintings of indigenous Australian inhabitants in Ubirr
  • Visit of Bowali cultural centre
  • Late in the afternoon climb up a hill above Nadab wetlands - sunset above the national park observation
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Kakadu

 

Day 9

  • Sightseeing of very old beautiful rock paintings at Nourlangie
  • Transfer to billabong of  Coinda
  • Unforgettable boat trip on Yellow Water lake - observation of rich flora and fauna along the lake banks even in the water
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Katherine

 

 

 

Day 10

  • A trip to a beautiful canyon in Nitmiluk National Park
  • Visit of Katherine National Park, swimming in a lake under waterfall
  • Return to Darwin in the afternoon
  • Visit of local market place with lots of delicaces and food especially from Southeast Asia, indigenous musicians production, famous market at the Mindil Beach.
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel in Darwin

 

 

 

Day 11

  • Morning flight to Cairns
  • Car transfer to pitoresque small city of Port Douglas
  • Stops along the route - visits of local tropical forests and beautiful waterfalls
  • After arrival relaxation on a beach
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel close to Cairns

 

 

 

Day 12

  • Swimming and snorkelling on Mackay and Udine coral reefs
  • Visit of famous Cape Tribulation
  • Visit of Daintree - the worldwide oldest forest
  • Swimming in a small lake inside Mosman Gorge
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel close to Cairns

 

Day 13

  • Transfer to Atheron region
  • Visit of remarkable pyramids and waterfalls
  • Afternoon relaxation on the Mission Beach
  • Evening - walk to the forest, observation of night active animals around "Mexican Pyramids" (optional)
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Mission Beach

 

Day 14

  • Whole day transfer to the south
  • Several stops for swimming in lakes of admiring waterfalls
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Airlie Beach

 

 

 

 

Day 15

  • Boat trip among Whitsundays 79 uninhabited islands and islets
  • Relaxation on untouched Whiteheaven Beach
  • Unique opportunity for swimming and snorkelling above coral reefs
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Airlie Beach

 

Day 16

  • Boat transfer Fraser Island coast
  • Time at a leasure after arrival
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Herver Bay

 

Day 17

  • Fraser Island National Park - worldwide biggest sandy island
  • Whole day off road vehicles safari to the national park interior
  • Excellent opportunity for observation of many marsupial, bird and reptile species - most of them have been extinct in the mainland
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel at Herver Bay

 

Day 18

  • Observation and feeding of dolphins in Tin Can Bay in the morning
  • Visit of Australian animals ZOO established by famous crocodile hunter Mr. Steven Irwing (optional)
  • Afternoon transfer to Brisbane via Glass House Mountains
  • Accommodation and night at a hotel in Brisbane

 

Day 19

  • Free time in Brisbane (depending on the flight time)
  • Transfer to the airport and depature

 

This itinerary can be optionally widened for three days more - off road vehicle safari through wild Australian interior.
